Is curing just as simple as placing the composite film into the curing chamber and taking it out during post-processing? The answer is of course no! If curing is not controlled well, it is possible that the previous laminating work will be wasted, resulting in the composite film It has quality problems such as poor peel strength, poor opening, and odor, and the amount of scrap is very large, causing a large number of quality accidents.
So, in actual work, how do we manage the aging of composite membranes?
1. The design of the curing room must be done well, especially the design of the heating system of the curing room.
At present, there are two common domestic curing room heating systems: external heating and internal heating. External heating refers to heating the air outside the curing chamber to a certain temperature, and then using a fan to send the hot air into the curing chamber. Internal heating refers to installing a heating pipe in the curing chamber to heat up the indoor air. No matter which heating method is used, the purpose is to achieve stable and uniform temperature in the curing chamber. When using the internal heating method, the heating pipe is installed in the lower part of the curing chamber and a fan is attached. Manufacturers who have the conditions to install two curing chambers, one with a temperature set at 40°C to 45°C and the other with a temperature set at 50°C to 55°C, are used for the aging of different composite membranes.
2. Do a good job in time management and temperature management of film curing
At present, the curing time of almost all types of adhesives on the market will be indicated in the instruction manual. However, in actual work, we can often see that some flexible packaging manufacturers shorten the curing time because the delivery time is too urgent. time, or the curing time is extended because the progress of the subsequent processes cannot keep up. The shortened curing time may cause the adhesive to mature without affecting the peel strength or residual odor, and the curing time is too long, which may lead to poor film opening.
Therefore, a "curing time registration form" is set up to number the composite film rolls, register the time when they enter and take out the curing room, and strictly follow the adhesive's instructions. If the delivery time is indeed too urgent, , can be compounded with quick-drying ester-soluble polyurethane adhesive or alcohol-soluble adhesive.
As mentioned before, two curing chambers with different set temperatures can be installed. This is because composite membranes with different material structures have different curing temperature requirements.
The management of the composite process cannot ignore every detail. Only by implementing every work in a practical manner and achieving "controllability" can we obtain the best composite effect.
